Santa’s Treat

The illustration I created for our family’s 2005 Christmas card was the first in the series not to depict a person. It was also a variation on an earlier card concept: Cookies For Santa. My children (perhaps inspired by my earlier design) came up with the idea for this one. The dog was our dog Loki (also seen in Stringing the Lights) and the cat was our cat Cuddleglum, making his debut (he would reappear on out 2016 card a decade later). The interior of this card contained the caption, Mom, Santa came! But he sure was messy!
