Reading the Christmas Story

This is perhaps the least “Christmas-y” of all the Christmas card drawings I have done over the years. In fact, were not for the candy cane in Ellie’s hand, you might never know it had anything to do with the holiday. But it’s also one of my favorite drawings. The chair is based on one we actually had at the time—a used magenta easy chair. It looks a lot better in black and white!
