On Display

Hodson Hall
1980 Folwell Avenue
St. Paul, MN 55108
The museum is housed in Hodson Hall, the Entomology building. There is a display on the fourth floor (above the library), which is open to the public whenever the building is open (usually business hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm). It contains some economic displays, and a display of the various orders of common insects found in Minnesota for which the museum is responsible.
The rest (3.25 million specimens) is not generally open to the public. To display all of its nearly 6,000 drawers, would take over 1.67 miles of space. Groups, which can tour the museum by appointment, will see the display, the museum, and some of its more spectacular specimens, learn what museums are for, and be able see and handle some live things.
