I had a roommate in college who watched a lot of T.V., so I kiddingly said that this was a portrait of him. He didn’t find that very funny.

The piece is actually a portrait of the average American. The title is borrowed from an excellent song by Michael Franti's first hip-hop group The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy.
