Artwork: Hanging the Stockings

Hanging the Stockings

1999
Pen and ink
5" x 7"

Eliana, my younger daughter was walking at nine months. Watching her climb all over the house wreaking havoc gave me the inspiration for this piece.

With this illustration Rachel had visually transformed into the girl of my first few cards, creating a bridge to those earlier pieces. Note the continued motifs of the Christmas tree and hardwood floor. (Alas, we don't really have a fireplace.)
