Reading the Christmas Story

2001
Pen and ink
7" x 8"

For the first time I vignetted my drawing against a plain white background. There was no profound reason for this, I simply felt a background was unnecessary, and might detract from the drawing. So I left it out.

This is the least “Christmas-y” of all the drawings; in fact, if it were not for the candy cane in Ellie's hand, you would never know it had anything to do with the holiday. But I still like it.
