The Knight: Trivia

The knight was played by my friend (and Steve’s roommate) Mark. That’s his muscle car (which he was quite proud of).

I like the cross-shaped telephone pole lurking behind him like some mystical sign. It is interesting to note that Mark, an agnostic when this photo was taken, would become a Christian the following year. A little bit of cosmic foreshadowing maybe?

Mark is also the creator of Infinite Chess, a game he sells through his web site. It’s a matter or personal pride that I can say not only did I participate with Mark in the very first game of i–Chess ever played, but also that I won (for the record, Mark defeated Steve in the second game ever played, which I photographed).
