This is actually a working clock. The number of malt glasses is the current time in hours. The level of the malt the girl is drinking indicates the current time in minutes (every minute it drops a little, so half-full would be half-past the hour). The level of malt in the straw indicates seconds (climbing a little towards her mouth every second until it reaches 60, then it drops and starts again). So if you are viewing this at 1:00, the table is empty, save the glass she is drinking from. At 12:00, the table is crowded with empty glasses.
