These were studies for Rachel’s Menagerie. At the bottom is a note I wrote to myself, suggesting I alter the perspective slightly. The effect is to move the viewer back from the picture plane, which would give me more foreground space (for the crocodile and rhino) as well as lowering the eye-level of the viewer slightly to be more on the level with Rachel.
