Campfire

1994
Pencil on trace

In 1988 I wrote a children's book called A Year at Camp Charis, based on my own experiences at Camp Koinonia in New York. I wrote the story for a class and I never tried to publish it. However, in the early 90s I dusted it off and began to rework it creating a few sketches of possible illustrations in the process. But once again I had to set it aside and I've yet to get back to it.

I make a cameo in this piece—I'm the fellow in the Yankee hat on the left.
