VCB328 Advanced Web Design

Web Site (Part 1: Site Map)

Assignment

Using the material provided, create a fully functional and complete web site.

Imagine that you are a freelance web designer, and I am your client. I have hired you to build the web site for my organization/company. It is your task to take the material I give you and shape it into an attractive, usable, functional complete web site.

You will be given a number of pages of information that must be included on the site. You will also be given photos that could appear if appropriate. In addition, you may need to create.find additional graphical material to complete your site.

Part One: Site Map

  1. Look over the provided content. Ask yourself, what sort of site will this be? Who is the target audience? How should the information be organized? Are there logical groupings? How many sections (pages) should the site contain? How many level? How do the pages relate to one-another?
  2. Create a site map that diagrams the number of pages and the way they should relate to one another. Hint: start with a home page and work down from there. Though I would prefer you create the site map with Illustrator or similar computer application, it could be hand-drawn as long as it's neat and easy to read. If you do hand-draw it, scan in and create a jpeg file that you can turn-in.
  3. You will present your site map to the class next session.
  4. Due: Beginning of class, week 2 .
