Exercise: Selections (I Was There)
Use the selection tools to cut yourself out of one image and place yourself in another.
Procedure
- In class I will take digital photos of everyone.
- Look over the backgrounds I provide and select one, or if you prefer, you can find one of your own. The image should be at least 1000 pixels square. Get my approval on the image.
- Get the photo I shot of you.
- Use the selection tools to carefully select around yourself.
- Place yourself in your chosen landscape. Pay particular attentionto the size and perspective of your chosen scene—the trick is to make it look like you are actually there.
- Save your file yourName_IWasThere.psd
- Turn in your exercise. Put your file on a jump drive (if you don't have one you can borrow mine), and give me a copy.
- If you miss class—find or take a photo of yourself (full body) and a (different) background to use for this exercise.
