GMD•200 Digital media 1

Exercise: Selections (I Was There)

Use the selection tools to cut yourself out of one image and place yourself in another.

Procedure

  1. In class I will take digital photos of everyone.
  2. Look over the backgrounds I provide and select one, or if you prefer, you can find one of your own. The image should be at least 1000 pixels square. Get my approval on the image.
  3. Get the photo I shot of you.
  4. Use the selection tools to carefully select around yourself.
  5. Place yourself in your chosen landscape. Pay particular attentionto the size and perspective of your chosen scene—the trick is to make it look like you are actually there.
  6. Save your file yourName_IWasThere.psd
  7. Turn in your exercise. Put your file on a jump drive (if you don't have one you can borrow mine), and give me a copy.
  8. If you miss class—find or take a photo of yourself (full body) and a (different) background to use for this exercise.
