The Chi-Cheemaun is a car and passenger ferry that runs between Tobermory, Ontario and Manitoulin Island (at the point where Lake Huron and Georgian Bay meet). Our family made that crossing in 1979. I later made this drawing to commemorate the event.
Chi-cheemaun is Ojibwe for “big canoe.”
