When I teach illustration classes I like to assign a children's book illustration as one of the projects. I usually provide my students with real stories to interpret; in this case Andrea chose to do a scene from Mercer Mayer's What Do You Do With a Kangaroo (one of my all time favorites). So what does a raccoon have to do with a book about a kangaroo? Well there are quite a few animals in the story (including a llama, possum, tiger & moose.
